Cailin Duram, University of Massachusettes Medical School graduate, had a passion for helping underserved populations receive healthcare. After graduating in 2009, she wanted to continue her work with refugees, but was faced with the burden of student loans. Luckily, she found the National Health Service Corps, which provides health care providers with an incentive to work in underserved areas, despite lower salary offerings, by awarding them student loan repayments and scholarships.
