Our services for patients with substance use issues are provided upon referral. A recognized diagnostic screening is used by primary care providers to assist in identifying patients whose use of substances poses potential risk to their health. Similar to our work in behavioral health, an integrated approach is used with “warm hand-offs” to other care team members as needed. In addition, we implement a Medication Assisted Treatment Program for our patients with opioid addiction or chronic pain conditions.
Our primary relationship for substance use services is with Spectrum Health Systems, an organization with whom we work closely and that has sites in proximity of all our medical sites.
